EURIPA Bursaries for Students and Young Healthcare Professionals

EURIPA is offering four (4) bursaries again this year. They aim to support students and young healthcare professionals to attend the 15th EURIPA Rural Health Forum in Cartagena, Spain from 1 – 3 October 2026. Each bursary will be worth 250 euros. A bursary can be used to reimburse the registration fee, travel or accommodation.

The early bird rate is open to 20 August 2026 and this year the fees are: 

  • Student registration is €50
  • Young Doctor registration €175
  • Other healthcare professionals €175

To be eligible for a bursary applicants must:

  • Be a student in a healthcare field or a young healthcare professional (first 5 years post qualification)
  • Have an abstract submitted for the EURIPA Forum (oral presentation, One slide / Five minutes, poster or workshop).  
  • Submit a one page motivational letter stating why they want to attend the EURIPA Forum in Cartagena.

Following the EURIPA Forum those who have been awarded a bursary will be asked to write a 400-600 word report on their experience which will be shared in the EURIPA Grapevine.  

Applications are open until 14 June 2026,  extended to 28 June 2026
Bursaries winners will be announced by 9 August 2026. 

Practicalities of payment:

Recipients will need to complete a claim to receive reimbursement for their registration fee, accommodation and/or travel costs. Reimbursement can be made as soon as receipts of payment are available.

Maximum amount that can be reimbursed per person is 250 euro.

Assessment of applications: 

Scoring system

  • Must have abstract accepted 
  • Motivational Letter: 5 points
  • Low and Middle Income countries: 1 point

Max points = 6 per judge

There will be a minimum of three EURIPA Executive Committee members as part of a jury to vote on the applications received.
