Welcome to the Call for Abstracts for the 14th h EURIPA Rural Health Forum.
The title of this year’s Forum is:
The European Rural and Isolated Practitioners Association (EURIPA) is pleased to invite you to submit abstracts for the 14th EURIPA Rural Health Forum 2025. This year’s theme, "Rural Reformation: Meeting Wellbeing and Healthcare Needs in Rural Communities," focuses on four themes critical to advancing rural healthcare through innovative solutions and dedicated research. The Workforce section emphasizes the importance of supporting healthcare professionals in rural settings, particularly in addressing shortages and fostering resilience. The Research section invites contributions aimed at generating evidence to improve rural healthcare delivery. The Clinical Practice section focuses on how healthcare delivery can be improved in rural areas, especially for aging populations and through the use of new technologies. Lastly, the Innovation section emphasizes leveraging digital tools and integrative approaches like "One Health" to improve healthcare outcomes in rural communities.
The principles of generalism are critical to sustaining effective and comprehensive rural healthcare. The forum will feature discussions on how generalist care can contribute to high-quality, sustainable rural healthcare. Hence, this call encourages contributions that demonstrate how rural health can be reformed and improved through generalist principles, innovative practices, and dedicated research. We are particularly interested in submissions across the key themes:
Rural areas often face significant challenges in maintaining a stable and well-supported healthcare workforce. Topics include:
This area focuses on enhancing the evidence base for rural healthcare. Submissions may address

Innovation is key to meeting the complex challenges of rural healthcare. Topics of interest include:
We welcome abstracts that showcase innovative practices, research findings, and real-world solutions that can make a tangible impact in rural health.
Of course, there will also be free standing presentations: so please don't hesitate to present an abstract on a topic reflecting your own interests.
The final programme will be based around these themes, and include oral presentations, poster presentations, workshops, discussion panels, keynote lectures and an intergenerational session. New for this year will be “One slide/five minutes” presentations. These presentations are for people wanting to explore new areas for research, explore a research problem or invite potential collaborators to engage with them.
The final content of the programme will be determined by the abstract submissions and there will be prizes for the best oral communication and the best poster. Also, the Best Oral Communication by a young doctor will be awarded the Berit Hansen Prize.
Abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book that will be published by Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine. EURIPA is pleased to collaborate with the Journal and more information is available on the collaboration.
Once an abstract is accepted by the Scientific Committee, authors will need to Register and pay their registration fee for the Forum in order for their abstracts to be included in the Abstract Book. Authors will need to participate in the Forum in Wittenberg, and for the workshops it is recommended that at least three co-authors will be able to attend the Forum in order to deliver an effective workshop.
There will be a poster walk during the Forum. This means that authors, whose abstracts are accepted for posters, will have to bring a physical poster with them to be displayed on the poster boards. Everyone attending the Forum will have a chance to vote for the Best Poster, by Friday afternoon 27 June. The authors of the top five posters will be invited to present their poster at a ‘Poster session’ on Friday evening, after which the winning poster will be chosen. The award will be presented on Saturday morning at the Closing Ceremony.
Please do not miss this opportunity to participate in a stimulating meeting in an interesting location.
